THE COLORADO SCHOOL FOR FAMILY THERAPY
The Child and Family Investigator Certification provides the 40 hours of CFI training required by the state of Colorado.
The 40 hours of education include the family life cycle and variations during divorce and remarriage, CFI report writing, the difference between CFI related work and psychotherapy, an overview of the Colorado court system, dysfunctional family systems, court testimony, marketing, Colorado Mental Health Law, risk management and risk prevention, interviewing skills, genogram models, cultural competency, handling allegations of child abuse, child neglect, domestic violence, and substance abuse, child, adolescent, and family development, the Chief Justice Directive for CFIs , and parental alienation.
The CFI Certificate may be earned by Classroom, Distance Learning or a combination of Classroom and Independent Study Work.
Reo N. Leslie, D. Min., LMFT, LPC, CAC III, NCC, ACS, RPTS, DAACS
Dr. Leslie is an ordained pastor in both the Baptist Church and the United Church of Christ. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Hawaii and Colorado. Dr. Leslie is the founder, CEO, Chaplain, Senior Faculty Member, and School Director of the Colorado School for Family Therapy. The School is approved and regulated by the State of Colorado and Department of Higher Education, Division of Private Occupational Schools. Dr. Leslie has also taught courses in play therapy, religious studies, theology, nonprofit management, ethics, marriage and family therapy, psychology and counseling at the M.A. and Ph.D. levels at the University of Guam, Naropa University, Argosy University, Salve Regina University, and Asbury Theological Seminary and taught courses on Psychology, Multicultural Studies, and Africana Studies on the undergraduate level at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) Greeley. Dr. Leslie was appointed to the State of Colorado Professional Counselors (LPC) Examiners Board by the Governor of Colorado in July 2005. He was elected Vice Chair of the LPC Board in July 2006. Dr. Leslie has thirty-one years of post-masters experience in counseling, consulting. supervision, and training.

Ms. Ramunda-Yanez holds a M.A. from the University of Colorado in Denver (CU Denver) in Counseling Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Colorado and has earned Postgraduate Certificates in Play Therapy and Marriage and Family Therapy from The Colorado School for Family Therapy. Ms. Ramunda- Yanez has a successful private practice in both child and family investigations and systemic relational therapy and has written over 100 CFI reports for local court systems.

Enrollment Requirements
Undergraduate student or degree, Graduate student or degree or, 2 years of experience in a setting involving direct contact with children, youth, or families, or the equivalent.
