Staff

The School is a State of Colorado Department of Higher Education, Division of Private Occupational

Schools approved and regulated facility, educating students in advanced clinical work. Therapists are graduate students and post-master’s degree clinicians working toward certification in marriage and family therapy, play therapy, sex therapy, and/or state licensure. All of our therapists have experience working with individuals, couples, families, and are in ongoing supervision with licensed faculty.

The Colorado Compassion Initiative

In October 2003, the School received a sub-award grant from the Colorado Compassion Initiative to provide culturally competent and faith-based counseling services through the clinic. To learn more about the Colorado Compassion Initiative and the grant donor, JVA Consulting, LLC, visit www.jvaconsulting.com or call 303-477-4896.

Theoretical Orientation

The School bases psychotherapeutic treatment on a systemic and relational theoretical orientation.

Clinicians are also ethnocultural and faith-sensitive. All graduate students, post-Master’s clinicians and licensed mental health professionals share this systemic orientation and are also ethno-culturally

competent and faith-sensitive.

Therapy Fees

Fees are based on the client’s ability to pay. Our clients are charged based on a sliding fee scale based on their annual household income, with a minimum fee of $20 per session and a maximum of $50 per session.  Licensed mental health professionals may be contracted at higher rates.

INSURANCE: Limited insurance coverage is accepted. Contact the School to discuss insurance options.

MEDICAID: Clients covered by medicaid can receive counseling at The Healing Place.

Referral Process

If you think that the School may be able to help, please contact us at 720-859-0464. If we are unavailable to take your call, please leave a message and we will get back to you.  Over the phone, we will ask some basic questions that will help us understand how we can best serve you. This should take approximately ten minutes. This information will be used to match you with one of our therapists who will best meet your needs.  Once a clinician has been paired with you, she/he will contact you as soon as possible and arrange a time to meet. Evening and weekend client treatment hours are encouraged.
