Available Programs

  • Marriage and Family Therapy Program
    A Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy is awarded upon successful completion of the course and supervision requirements in the Marriage and Family Therapy Training Program. The program emphasis is placed on the clinical practice of marriage and family therapy and the leadership, business and career development of the student.
  • Distance Marriage and Family Therapy Program
    The School offers twelve distance learning/independent classes in the areas most states require for LMFT licensure and the AAMFT requires for Clinical Member status. There are classes in marriage and family studies, human development, professional and ethical issues, research methods, and marriage and family therapy.
  • Play Therapy Program
    Students may earn a Certificate in the Creative Arts and Play Therapy or a Certificate in Clinical and Systemic Play Therapy (35-50 hours of clinical supervision, 350-500 hours of clinical practice in play therapy and 150 hours of instruction) through the School program.
  • Distance Play Therapy Program
    The Colorado School for Family Therapy offers distance learning play therapy education classes that cover all four APT required areas in the course content and clinical supervision.
  • Child and Family Investigator Program
    The Child and Family Investigator Certification provides the 40 hours of CFI training required by the state of Colorado plus an additional 20 hours of related systemic and professional education.
  • Certificate Program in Dance and Movement
  • Certificate of Clinical Supervision
    Interested students with an appropriate license may earn a Certificate of Clinical Supervision. The classes required for this certificate include Systemic Clinical Supervision and the Supervision Practicum A-D. The AAMFT Supervision Manual can be downloaded from www.aamft.org.

    Learn About:

  • LPC/NCE Exam Preparation Workshop
    The State of Colorado, and other states require that you and I pass the National Counselor Examination (NCE) written by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) in order to earn our Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license. This experiential and didactic workshop will help you identify ways to pass this essential exam so you can get your LPC license as soon as possible. This workshop will expand your discipline knowledge with concise lectures and sample exams.
  • LMFT Exam Preparation Workshop
    The State of Colorado, and other states require that you and I pass the Marriage and Family Therapy National Licensing Exam administered by the Association of Marriage & Family Therapy Regulatory Boards (AMFTRB) in order to earn our Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license. This experiential and didactic workshop will help you identify ways to pass this essential exam so you can get your LMFT license as soon as possible. This workshop will expand your discipline knowledge with concise lectures and sample exams.
